We believe that the Bible teaches:
- A living personal relationship with God is a free gift. No one can earn it and no one deserves it. “…the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.” We are saved by grace, not by works, not by doing good.
- All people have sinned and come short of glorifying God. The wages of sin are death which separates us from the love of God.
- God is a just God and must punish sin. Yet He is also a God of love and He provided a way out of the dilemma. Jesus Christ took our punishment and obtained eternal life for us. He always stands ready to forgive those who are sorry for their sins and turn to Him.
- Jesus Christ is the key to a renewed relationship with God. Since Jesus Christ is God himself, He could take the punishment of our sin upon Himself on the cross of Calvary and provide eternal life with God for all who believe in Him and trust Him as Saviour and Lord of their lives.
- By believing in Jesus Christ through faith we can know that we already have eternal life. Jesus died on the cross, but He was raised from the dead. Those who believe in Christ have a personal relationship with Him both now and forever.
You become a Christian when you respond to the teachings of the Bible as outlined above by:
- Accepting the free gift of salvation offered by Jesus Christ (Acts 16:31)
- Being sorry for your sins and turning from them (Romans 6 & 8:10-14)
- Committing yourself to follow Jesus and serve Him as Lord (Mark 8:34-38), (John 15:14)
