2 Corinthians 4:1-12
Summary: This is the second of a 6-part series on our new Vision Statement. This Sunday morning we’ll focus on the phrase, “…used by God to transform lives…” Clay jars in the ancient world were profoundly ordinary, commonplace, household containers. By identifying himself and all Christians as clay jars, Paul is highlighting that gospel ministry is not about human prowess or prestige but about the power and prestige of Jesus Christ. God doesn’t want us taking credit for what only He can do. And yet, God does use ordinary vessels such as we are to share the transformative treasure of Jesus Christ. Our posture must be to depend upon him in humility and to be ready to give Him all the praise and glory for what He uses us to accomplish.
