1 Corinthians 15: 50-58
Summary: 1 Corinthians 15 is the great resurrection chapter of Paul’s writings in which he addresses the doubts and skepticism of some in Corinth who’d begun denying that “resurrection” included our physical bodies. Paul famously teaches that the bodily resurrection is a non-negotiable cornerstone of Christian faith (v.16). The conclusion of his argument in vv. 50-58 includes a reminder of the transformation our bodies will undergo at Christ’s return and a bold declaration of death’s powerlessness over those who trust in Him. The knowledge of our eternal resurrection hope enables a life of hope and boldness in the face of death that is unlike anything else. We as Christians are called to live out this bold hope as a testimony to the world around us.
