Calvin CRC runs a variety of outreach programs for its members. Coffee Break, Friendship Group, various rentals that have been initiated, and other affinity–based ministries appeal to the wider community as well as Calvin’s members. Many of Calvin’s members are currently involved in organizations outside of Calvin, serving quietly but willingly in their area of giftedness. We SERVE Special Needs youth and their families each year, and we have developed a unique partnership with a church in Peru that allows our members to show the love of Christ, gain life experience, and learn in a cross-cultural and intergenerational context. This past June we once again participated in the city wide The Big Give and blessed people in our neighbourhood. Our church building is also well designed for a wide range of programs, for ministry, for fellowship and for worship and is being utilized more and more for these purposes. What follows are some of the ministries that happen here at Calvin either once in a while, or regularly.
